Seventy-five people attended an open house Saturday afternoon at the Water Treatment Plant and Water Tower in New Auburn. Above, New Auburn Mayor Roger Becker (right) visited with John Graupman (left), engineer with Bolten and Menk, and Gerald Woodley (center), Mankato representative from Sen. Norm Coleman’s office. The Water Treatment Facility cost $950,000, while the Water Tower cost $439,000. Construction of the new facilities began in June 2006 and was completed in June 2007.

Senator Norm Coleman announced that he has secured $300,000 in funding for the City of New Auburn’s drinking water plant in the Senate’s fiscal year 2008 Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations bill. Continue reading »

The finishing touch – painting – was being done last week on New Auburn’s new 100,000 gallon water tower. The water tower and the city’s new water treatment plant are expected to begin operating this month. The city is planning an open house June 23.
