Firefighters putting out practice burn of an LP tank

Gaylord firefighters practiced battling a liquefied petroleum (LP) tank fire Monday evening near the Fire Hall. Instructors showed a video then provided hands-on training for the firefighters. Fire Chief Dean Schons said the four hour course was very valuable for the department. United Farmers Cooperative (UFC) donated the LP, a truck, and manpower for the practice burn, according to Schons.

Opening day!

Youngsters flocked to the Gaylord Pool which opened its doors for the season on Monday, June 7th. More than 200 people used the pool on opening day, according to manager Eileen Brandt. She said inclement weather kept the pool closed for most of last week.
