Gaylord’s Game Protective League will host its 90th annual Pow Wow Sunday at the GPL Park, one mile northeast of Gaylord. The public is invited.

Trap shooting will begin at 11 a.m. There will be merchandise shoots, Annie Oakley, sporting clays, 10-bird sausage shoots, and 25-bird turkey shoots. A Junior shoot will be held at 4 p.m.

Refreshments will be available. Famous Pow Wow hamburgers will be served.

For youngsters, there will be races for children in pre-school through Grade 6. Registration will begin at 12:30 p.m., with races starting at 1 p.m. Treats will be provided for all participants. There will also be a kids laser shoot on the GPL park grounds. New playground equipment was recently installed at the park.

There will be a raffle with 14 prizes at 7 p.m.

Free camping is offered for the weekend.

The American Red Cross Bloodmobile will stop in Gaylord Thursday, Sept. 17.

The bloodmobile will be at the Gaylord American Legion from 1 – 7 p.m. The public is invited to participate. E.J. Pinske Builders is sponsoring the event by donating the rental fee for the use of the Legion.

Co-coordinator Gail Estenson said that the Gaylord bloodmobile recently received $296.50 from Gaylord Combined Charities. This donation will be used when Gaylord hosts the County-wide Type “O” blood drive in December.
