Lenetta Doering – 101

Lenetta A. Doering, age 101, of Gaylord passed away Wed., Jan. 5, 2011, at the Waconia Good Samaritan Center in Waconia. Funeral service was Wed., Jan. 12, 2011, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord, with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Fredric Hinz officiated.

Honorary Casket bearers were Mike Doering, Craig Doering, and Ryan Doering. Casket bearers were grandsons, Dave Berndtson, Todd Ellig, Scott Doering, Robin Doering, Brent Doering, Kevin Doering.

Lenetta Amelia (Krecklau) Doering was born on Nov. 7, 1909, in Glencoe. She was the daughter of Adolph and Lydia (Arldt) Krecklau. The family lived in Glencoe through her young life. They moved to south Minneapolis, where she was later confirmed in her faith as a youth at Christ Lutheran Church.

On April 13, 1928, Lenetta was united in marriage to Lenhard Doering. The couple farmed in Dryden Township, until 1962, when they moved into Gaylord. She worked for Rosenberg’s Egg Plant in Gaylord, and later for Hands, Inc. in Winthrop. Lenetta and Lenhard shared 55 years of marriage, before Lenhard passed away on November 8, 1983. They were blessed with four children. 

Lenetta was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Gaylord. 

During her lifetime, she had many interests and hobbies. Lenetta loved gardening, canning, making dolls, crossword puzzles, and fishing. But the best times in her life, was being surrounded by her family.

When she needed assistance with her daily care, Lenetta became a resident of the Waconia Good Samaritan Center. 

Lenetta is survived by her son, Robert Doering and his wife, Delores of Le Sueur; daughter, Alice Ellig and her husband, Kenneth of Waconia; grandchildren, Michael Doering, Robin Doering and his wife, Sharon, Kevin Doering and his wife, Christine, Scott Doering and his wife, Lori, David Berndtson, Starr Poppe and her husband, Todd, Stacy Otto and her husband, Tim, Brent Doering and his wife, Maria, Craig Doering, Ryan Doering, Todd Ellig and Andrea Kulig and her husband, Will; 21 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Betty Doering of Gaylord; son-in-law, Donald Berndtson of Bloomington; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Lenetta was preceded in death by her parents, Adolph and Lydia Krecklau; husband, Lenhard Doering; daughter, Shirley Berndtson; son, LeRoy Doering; sister, Erma Uecker and her husband, William; and brother, Ernst and his wife, Margaret Krecklau.
