Here comes a very special weekend for all of us Americans!

July 1st, 2010

It’s time to take a break and celebrate our country’s 234th birthday. The color theme is red, white and blue! What you do to celebrate is up to you! We suggest a swim at the ever-cool Gaylord Pool! Wear all three colors of our country and for Saturday, Sunday and Monday, you will be given FREE admission to our pool!

Here at the Gaylord Pool, we will be decorated in the colors of our country and playing patriotic tunes all weekend long! Since the 4th is on a Sunday this year, Monday, the 5th also becomes a holiday too. Three whole days to celebrate the best country in the land!

On all three days, we will light our grill around 4 p.m. so bring those burgers, hotdogs and brats to grill and enjoy! We’ll close our doors each night at 9 p.m. to allow the pool staff to enjoy the fireworks, just another grand part of our country’s celebration!

SWIMMING LESSONS
Session #1 lessons wrap up on July 6 and 7th. Then we turn right around and begin Session #2 on Thursday, July 8th!

Learning to swim will be even more important next summer at our pool. You will want to be able to enjoy all our new water features! To use the big water slide, a person must be at least 48” tall and not need to wear armies!

Folks will be coming from near and far…(Belle Plaine, Chaska, Carver, Arlington, Henderson, Le Sueur, St. Peter, Nicollet, Winthrop, Hector, Buffalo Lake, Stewart, Hutchinson, Glencoe, Gibbon, Brownton and New Auburn just to name a few towns..sorry if I missed one or two) for second session lessons.

Remember, just like “coming to America,” ALL are welcome to learn to swim right here! We await all these people’s arrival and can’t wait to help their children learn to swim and/or learn to swim better!

H2O Fun
We are so fortunate to have so many smart adults in this area! Our work-out classes have are increasing weekly in popularity and participants! Make plans to join us!

Bright and early in the morning starting at 6 a.m. on the weekdays the doors of the Gaylord Pool open for adults only! Adults are coming from “in town,” all around the countryside, Nicollet, Winthrop, and Le Sueur too, to work-out with us bright and early! It seems like each morning, we are pleasantly surprised to greet yet another new friend who has heard about our work-outs and has decided to give us a try!

At noon, we have Tan and Toning Time. Then again at 6 p.m. we have Aqua Shuffle. All three offerings are great work-outs. All three classes have different instructors and so are a little different in their formats. Give us a try. It’s no lie. You have never seen an unfit fish. They use the water and that is why!

FACEBOOK
Have you checked out our pool’s new Facebook site yet? Go to Facebook, scroll down and find the group sites. Type in Gaylord Pool and voilà, you are there. You are now in touch with us!

We are going to use the proceeds from the collection of aluminum cans in our recycling container, which sits in our parking lot, to get Internet access at the pool starting next summer. This way when we need to shut down for weather, we can plug into our site and let you all know right away! So help us by bringing us your aluminum cans, please!

Have a safe holiday and enjoy your right to celebrate all weekend long!
