Three, four-year terms and one, two-year term on the Sibley East Board of Education will be filled at the general election Nov. 2.
The Board of Education, last week, approved a resolution establishing dates for filing affidavits of candidacy.
Filing begins Aug. 3 and closes Aug. 17 at 5 p.m. An affidavit of candidacy must be filed in the office of the school district clerk and a $2 filing fee paid prior to Aug. 17 at 5 p.m.
Affidavits of candidates are available from the school district clerk’s office at the Arlington school campus. A school board candidate must be an eligible voter, must be 21 years of age or more on assuming office, must have been a resident of the school district from which the candidate seeks election for 30 days before the general election, and must have no other affidavit on file for any other office at the same general election.
The three, four-year terms that will be on the election ballot are currently held by Scott Dose, Anne Karl, and Dan Woehler. The two-year term that will be on the election ballot is currently held by Tim Dolan, who was appointed to fill the unexpired term of Jodi Hanson until the end of this year.
