Statewide Adverstising

To Whom It May Concern,

February 18th, 2010

I heard today that the City of Gaylord is thinking of building a waterpark with a pricetag of $2,500,000. Where is all of this money coming from for these projects? An article in the Free Press highlighted a meeting between local mayors and their efforts to adjust to state aid cutbacks. They are making changes that SAVE money for their cities. Where was Doug Quast at this meeting? Everyone around us seems to be cutting back, why are we spending? Where is the oil well? We must have one in this city somewhere! We are in a recession, spending money we don’t have, raising property taxes again. This is not going to get people to move to Gaylord. My property taxes doubled with the street project and, if this passes, they will be raised again. Please, council members, have some common sense when you come up with these ideas. This facility will only be used for 12 weeks a year. Stop spending and start looking for ways to save money.
