H1H1 Clinic December 3 at Sibley Co. Public Health

November 27th, 2009

Sibley County Public Health, in cooperation with Sibley Medical Center, will be holding an H1N1 Immunization Clinic on Thursday, Dec. 3 from 4 - 8 p.m. at the Sibley County Service Center, 111 8th Street in Gaylord.

This clinic will be open only to those who fit into one of the priority groups established by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). These priority groups include:

• Pregnant women
• People age six months to 24 years
• Those 25 to 64 years old with underlying medical conditions
• Caregivers of an infant who is under six months of age
• Direct care healthcare workers and EMS personnel

No appointment is needed and vaccinations will be done free of charge on a first come, first served basis.

According to Sibley County Public Health, the best way to fight off the H1N1 flu is to get immunized. The H1N1 vaccine has been manufactured and tested under the same criteria as the seasonal flu vaccine. The biggest difference is that they offer protection against different flu viruses.

If you have any questions, please contact Sibley County Public Health at 507-237-4035.
