Remember when you thought that once the 4th of July was over, that your summer was one half over too? It’s just sooooo not true! We have lots of summer left! The best is yet to come.
The PIGS are coming to Gaylord next week to get ready for their big weekend out at the POW-WOW Grounds and next weekend is the Jaycee Street Dance on Saturday, July 18th. Up ahead is the Sibley County Fair on July 29, 30, 31, & August 1, 2. Following on the heels of this weekend is Gaylord’s very own EGG-stravaganza Celebration, August 6-7-8. And starting the 20th of August and continuing for the next three weekends, Gaylord will be co-hosting the State Baseball Tournament!
So is summer one half over? It can’t be! Look at all the good times we have ahead to join in and have fun! Within all these events, don’t forget to “map-in” some down-time just for you!
Come and use your Gaylord Pool! Exercise in it! Meet your friends here! Take swimming lessons here! Bring your whole family to Family Swim! Stop in and check out the gardens and the fish in our pond! Bring along your book/magazine and while you soak up the atmosphere, you can even read down here! Why, we have something for everyone to do down here! What will get YOU down to the north end of town to check us out???
This coming Saturday is a Super Saturday here at our pool. This means that we have a full slate of activities planned. From 9 to 10 a.m., I will be leading my Lean and Mean Wave Work-out. Next, from 10 a.m. to noon, we will be offering swimming lessons. Adults, lessons for you will be offered at 11 am. for an hour. (Diving lessons with Jonni Norell at 10 a.m. have had to be cancelled for this summer — sorry.) At noon, there will be time for an hour of water walking. All this will be happening before we open for the day at 1 p.m.! Yup, the Gaylord Pool is a “Happening Place!”
Participants for this year’s Poolside Show are now needed. The theme this summer is: Gaylord…the land of 10,000 Jocks! We will be swimming and dancing to sports related songs as we prepare and dream about the Baseball Tournament just ahead. We are busy coming up with ideas and already know that as the fall high school sports season looms just ahead, there needs to be a song or two that points out the possible rivalries at our pool — namely, Sibley East vs. Le Sueur/Henderson vs. St. Peter vs. G-F-W vs. Minnesota Valley Lutheran. So kids, we need all of you to stop in at the office and tell us that you want to participate! Groups will be formed and practice times will be set up soon!
It’s summer time and the swimming is easy here on the north end of Gaylord. We open just for you bright and early and have activities planned for the entire day, each and every day, until we close our doors for the evening at 9:30 p.m. Come and join us! “Suit up” for some fun!
