Celebrate the USA’s 223rd birthday in style. Plan to spend at least part of this weekend with us! Drive by the ever-cool Gaylord Pool and check out our decorations!
On Friday, July 3rd, our hours will be from 1 to 9:30 p.m. with special activities planned for each hour. Come and join the fun! We will be open all day long — just for you.
On Saturday, the 4th of July, we will be open from 11 to 1 p.m. for a tan and tubing party — no swimming allowed — just floating and tanning on your tubes and air mattresses in our pool. (Remember: patriotic tunes will be playing on our PA system all day long. So to our neighbors, get ready to hear some toe-tapping patriotic tunes all day long in your back-yards!) From 1 to 6 p.m., we will be open to the public. Bring along your picnic supper as we will have our grill going! Our doors will close promptly at 6 p.m. to allow everyone time to get to their fireworks performance — where ever that might be! Remember to wear red, white and blue on the 4th, and we will give you free admission!
Our Sunday hours will be “back to the usual.” with open swim from 1 to 5, family swim from 5 to 7:30 p.m. and then again evening open swim from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Session two lessons began on Wednesday, July 1st but really begin in earnest on Monday, July 6th as many of those who signed up for session two said that they would not be able to attend lessons the first two days, July 1 and 2. Why? They were going to be gone for the 4th of July weekend! Openings still exist so give us a call at 237-2266 and we can tell you about openings we have left.
Adults, listen to this Gaylord pool happening! Last Saturday morning, in walked two women, both wanted adult lessons! They drove all the way from between Belle Plaine and Le Center! Why? Because we give adult lessons and they both wanted them! Together the three of us had so much fun talking and working together that I almost forgot that I was actually giving a lesson! And before they both left, they had both back floated, front floated and swam in the 12 ft. area!
They were amazed at their progress! I wasn’t. I knew that they could do it! Adults just need to get over their “can’t do it” attitude and step up to the edge of our pool! We who are WSI’s at the Gaylord Pool have the knowledge to help all of you learn to swim and/or swim better. Let’s not waste this summer! Join us. If you come on the right Saturday morning, you might even meet these two women as I know that they will be back for more lessons with us yet this summer!
SET the EXAMPLE
Have you ever seen an unfit fish? Well, you won’t! WHY? Because they all know how to use the water to get a great work-out! Come to our pool and follow the example set by our fish in our pond! Use the waters of the Gaylord Pool to get your fitness plans going all summer long!
We are open for adults during early riser time each weekday morning except Tuesday from 6 am to 7:30 a.m. Each Wednesday morning, we will be open starting at 5 a.m. Yup, that is early but we still want to try it! About 6:15, a group of us start water walking!
Starting on Monday, July 6th, our weekday exercise class schedule will go like this. Mon-Fri. from 11:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m., Cassie Mueller will be leading a low paced yet effective water work-out called Muscles to Motion. You will work up a sweat without getting your hair wet in our 4-5 ft. area.
Mon.-Fri. from 12:15 to 1 p.m., I will be leading my Lean and Mean work-out. “High-intensity” and sorry folks, you will get your hair wet while you work up a sweat! (I also am leading this work-out each Saturday morning that is listed on the Super Saturday insert in this year’s Poolside View pamphlet.)
Mon-Fri. from 5:45 to 6:30 p.m., Katie Boehne will be leading our Aqua Shuffle work-out! This total body work-out will have you leaving refreshed, ready for a great evening!
Remember, the best thing about water work-outs is that they double your work-out time as you are working against the resistance of the water at all times! A 1/2 hour work-out in the water is the same as 1 hour on land! Now you can see why you have NEVER seen an unfit fish! Follow their lead! Head for the water and MOVE IT!
