Sibley East drops league tilt at Brownton
June 18th, 2009A defensive duel went in favor of Brownton on Thursday as visiting Sibley East dropped the League “A” tilt 3-2.
The two teams combined for ten hits. Sibley East meanwhile committed two errors, one more than Brownton.
A Sibley East error and a pair of hits enabled Brownton to glove a 2-0 lead in the second inning.
Hits by Blake Henke and Nate Pilacinski enabled Sibley East to trim the margin to 2-1 in the third frame.
Brownton then strung together three singles to make it a 3-1 contest in the sixth inning. Sibley East answered with one in the seventh but stranded the tying run at second base.
Justin Rettmann pitched for SE. He yielded six hits and struckout two.
