Superintendent position offered to Stephen Jones
March 12th, 2009Sibley East’s Board of Education, at a special meeting Monday night, voted to offer the soon-to-be vacant superintendent position to Stephen Jones. He has verbally accepted the offer, pending the negotiations of a contract, according to school board chairman Brian Asmus.

The school board took action after it conducted final interviews in Gaylord with Jones and Dan Walker, a retired assistant superintendent from St. Louis Park, Monday.
The Board of Education is expected to act on the new superintendent’s hiring and contract at their regular meeting next Monday night in Arlington.
Superintendent John Langenbrunner’s contract with Sibley East expires June 30. He notified the Board of Education in November that he did not intend to renew the contract.
