Charlie Woehler will lead County Board in 2009

Sibley County’s Board of Commissioners welcomed Jim Swanson as the newest member of the board last week. Swanson, of Gaylord, was elected third district commissioner to replace Leo Bauer, who retired.

Fourth District Commissioner Charlie Woehler of Green Isle Township was elected chairman of the board. First District Commissioner Lee Anderly of Jessenland Township was elected vice chairman.

The board approved amending the rules of order, to allow the board chairman to make and second motions and resolutions.

Sibley County change funds were re-established for 2009. The total change fund is $6,150. This is $5,000 for the treasurer, $200 for recorder, $650 for auditor (deputy registrar $500, driver’s license $100 and special ELS game and fish $50), public health $250, and county sheriff $50.

The Gaylord Hub was named the official newspaper for Sibley County in 2009 at a rate of $7.75 per column inch, with a 50% discount after the first publication.

The Winthrop News was named the first newspaper for publication of the 2008 county financial statement. The Arlington Enterprise was named the second newspaper for publication of the financial statement.

Sibley County’s Web site was designated for publication of all transportation construction projects done by the Sibley County Public Works Office.

County officials and department heads were authorized to attend national, state, regional, and district association meetings in 2009, pursuant to personnel policy.
