Sibley East to add section of Kindergarten

July 24th, 2008

Sibley East will have five sections of Kindergarten for the 2008-2009 school year.

The Board of Education, Monday night, approved adding one section of Kindergarten because of high enrollment. According to Superintendent John Langenbrunner, Sibley East has 99 students enrolled in Kindergarten this fall.

Last spring, following Kindergarten enrollment, the district had planned to have four sections of Kindergarten. Plans are to have two sections of Kindergarten in Gaylord, and three sections of Kindergarten in Arlington.

Langenbrunner told the board that the only facility where there was space to add the section was in Arlington. Support staff will have to be moved to other areas in order to make room for the fifth section of Kindergarten, he explained.
