School lunch prices will increase 15¢
June 19th, 2008In order to keep up with food-related costs and meet equipment replacement needs, Sibley East’s Board of Education, Monday, increased school lunch prices by 15¢ for the 2008-2009 school years.
Lunch prices will increase from $1.75 to $1.90/meal for elementary students. Lunch charges for Junior and Senior High students were increased from $1.85 to $2.00/meal. Adult lunch prices were set at $3.15, up from $3.00. The reduced lunch price was set at 40¢ per meal.
The charge for the school breakfast program was increased from $1.50 to $1.65/meal. There is no charge for breakfast for students receiving free or reduced meals.
The cost of extra milk was set at 35¢, an increase from 30¢ last school year.
Milk break for elementary students will cost $20/semester or $40 for a full year. This is an increase from $19/semester and $38 for a full year.
Sibley East’s hot lunch prices will be similar to schools of Jordan, Lakeville, Montgomery, New Prague, Prior Lake, Shakopee, and Waconia. Those prices range from $1.80 – $2.15 for elementary student lunch, $1.80 – $2.25 for middle school student lunch, $1.90 – $2.25 for high school student lunch, and $3-$3.25 for adult lunch.
