SE enrollment down one student from last year

Although enrollment at Sibley East Public Schools is now at 1,271 students, it is expected to drop to 1,188 after students from migrant families leave. The enrollment at the start of the 2007-2008 year is down one student from the start of the 2006-2007 school year, when there were 1,272 students. Superintendent John Langenbrunner has projected an enrollment of 1,180 students this year.

According to the district office, there are 302 students enrolled at Sibley East Elementary in Arlington, and the enrollment is expected to drop to 283 by October 1.

Enrollment per grade is as follows: Kindergarten – 44; Grade 1 – 27; Grade 2 – 55; Grade 3 – 45, Grade 4 – 45; Grade 5 – 52, and Grade 6 – 34.

Enrollment at the Gaylord campus, as of September 10, was 348 students in Early Childhood Special Education through Grade 6. Enrollment per grade is as follows: Early Childhood Special Education – 12; Kindergarten – 56; Grade 1 – 44; Grade 2 – 54; Grade 3 – 34; Grade 4 – 51; Grade 5 – 45; and Grade 6 – 52.

At Sibley East Junior High School, there is an enrollment of 313 students. This includes 11 students from migrant families, and six “shared time” students. In Grade 7 there are 102 students, Grade 8 – 94 students, and Grade 9 – 117 students.

Sibley East Senior High School has 308 students. There are seven foreign exchange students and four migrant students. Five seniors are attending college full-time through the Post Secondary Enrollment Options program, while one senior is attending college part-time. There are 107 students in Grade 10, 108 students in Grade 11, and 93 students in Grade 12.
