Walsh gets plenty of work in state tourney
August 30th, 2007Gaylord Islanders standout Brad Walsh spun four solid innings of relief Friday in state tournament baseball action at Norwood.
Walsh, drafted by Belle Plaine for state tournament play, was the starting catcher for the Tigers who fell to Sauk Rapids 8-3 in opening round action.
After a slow start for Belle Plaine, Walsh was asked to pitch in the fourth inning. He would allow two runs on four hits in 4-2/3 innings of work. Walsh struckout four and walked two. He was hitless in four plate appearances.
