The Gaylord Eggstravaganza Committee recently revealed the 2007 button design. This year’s winning button design was submitted by Judy Madsen.

The Gaylord Eggstravaganza Committee recently revealed the 2007 button designThe button, which features a smiling egg that looks like an eighth note, reflects the theme of the event “Moving to the Music.” Eggstravaganza runs Thursday, August 9 – Saturday, August 11.

The theme was chosen because this year’s event features many musical acts in the parade and city park.

Saturday’s musical acts in the park include SuFuDu, Shriner Pipes & Drums, Ho Bo Band, Krissy Marie, Jack Brass, Country Gentlemen and — Gaylord’s own — Soundless Echos. The Saturday night dance band will be PopRocks, featuring 80s and 90s music.

A variety of other family entertainments such as horse carriage rides, fire truck rides and a kiddie tractor pull are planned throughout the event.

Traditional favorites such as the Eggceptional breakfast, which will be at the Legion, and the firefighters’ chicken dinner will be a part of Friday’s festivities.

Classic car fans will gather once again for Friday night’s Car Cruise. The Community Band will play downtown following the cruise. After the cruise is the kiddie parade, which is followed by the street dance. Rockbox is scheduled to play at the street dance outside Neisen’s Bar.

There will prizes given for the best costumes in the kiddie parade. Keeping with the theme of the weekend, paraders should dress as a singer or music group of their choice. There will be prizes for best boy, girl and group costumes, according to age groups.
Of course, the weekend would not be complete without the Thursday night Pool Show, coronation of the new Miss Gaylord, the fireworks show and parade on Saturday.
