Area townships to hold annual meetings Tuesday
March 8th, 2007Two area townships will be holding elections Tuesday, March 13, while all area townships will be holding their annual meetings.
Residents in Transit and New Auburn Townships will vote whether or not to change to November elections. Other area townships approved the measure last year. They will also be voting to fill supervisor and treasurer’s positions.
Transit Township has the only race this year. Incumbent treasurer Gerald Henke is being challenged by Lorie Wood. Esther Trebelhorn is unopposed for supervisor.
Transit Township will hold its annual meeting at 2 p.m. Polls will be open from 3 – 8 p.m.at the town hall.
Both incumbents are unopposed in New Auburn Township. Tom Ranzau filed for treasurer and Orville Polzin filed for supervisor.
New Auburn Township will conduct its election from 5 – 8 p.m. in the town hall. The annual meeting will begin at 8:05 p.m.
Four area townships will only be conducting annual meetings. Dryden Township will hold its annual meeting in the Gaylord Fire Hall at 7 p.m. Kelso Township will conduct its annual meeting at 7 p.m. in the town hall.
Alfsborg Township will hold its annual meeting at 4 p.m. in the town hall. Sibley Township will hold its annual meeting at 7:30 p.m. in the town hall.
In case of inclement weather, the election and annual meetings will be held March 20.
