Fifty-seven loans issued to replace septic systems

November 22nd, 2006

Fifty-seven loans have been issued through three Sibley County programs for homeowners to replace septic systems.

Auditor Lisa Pfarr presented the information to the Board of Commissioners last week.

Thirty-three property owners have participated in the Sibley County program, which loans funds for five years at 3% interest. 13 of the 33 loans have been paid, according to county records.

Fourteen loans have been issued at a program directed toward residents of the High Island Creek Watershed District. Terms of these loans are 10 years at 3% interest.

Ten loans have been issued for a program for residents of the Rush River Watershed District. These loan terms are also 10 years at 3% interest.

By participating in these programs, property owners may choose to have the loan payments placed on their property taxes.
