Voter turnout heavy, but less than 2004

Almost three out of every four registered Sibley County voters turned out at the polls in Tuesday’s balloting.

Election 2006 GraphicOn election day, 8,822 were registered to vote in the county. 6,396 turned out – a 72.5% level.

In 2004, a presidential election year, Sibley County showed 8,628 registered voters with 92% or 8,000 voting.
